A Step-by-Step Plan to Pay Off Credit Cards, Raise Your Credit Score and Finally Breathe Again
Stop paying interest for decades: a clear, calculated 90-day plan to pay off your credit cards and raise your credit score.
What you get
- Real math on the minimum-payment trap, with calculated payoff tables
- Debt snowball vs. avalanche: a full worked example with month-by-month results
- Word-for-word phone scripts for lower APRs, fee waivers and hardship programs
- A copy-ready debt validation letter and your rights under the FDCPA
- A zero-based monthly budget template with real numbers
- How to cut medical bills and sort out federal vs. private student loans

Minimum payments are designed to feel manageable. On a $5,000 card balance at 24% APR, paying only the minimum can take nearly 20 years and cost almost $9,000 in interest. This book shows you the math, then gives you a clear plan to get out.
The Debt-Free Blueprint walks you through every step: listing every dollar you owe, building a zero-based budget that funds your payoff, cutting the big bills first, and finding realistic extra income. You will compare the debt snowball and debt avalanche with a full worked example, so you can pick the method that fits you.
You also get the tools most debt books skip: word-for-word phone scripts to ask your card issuer for a lower APR, a fee waiver or a hardship program; a ready-to-copy debt validation letter for collectors; and a step-by-step method for cutting medical bills with itemized statements and financial assistance. Clear chapters explain balance transfers and 0% APR traps, consolidation loans, nonprofit credit counseling vs. risky debt settlement, federal vs. private student loans, your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the five FICO factors that drive your credit score.
It ends with a 90-day plan and a week-by-week checklist, so you know exactly what to do on day one, and every week after.

Your credit card statement shows a minimum payment, and it is designed to look manageable. On a $5,000 balance it might be $150. That feels fine. The problem is what happens after you pay it, month after month, for years. Here is a $5,000 balance at 24% APR with no new charges. In month one, interest is $100 and the minimum (1% of balance plus interest, never less than $25) is $150. Paying only the minimum, which falls as the balance falls, takes 234 months (19.5 years) and costs $8,886.92 in interest. Paying a fixed $150 (the first minimum, never lowered) takes 56 months and costs $3,322.15. Same starting payment of $150. The only difference is that in the second case you never let the payment shrink. That one habit cuts the payoff from 19.5 years to under 5 years and saves $5,564.77 in interest. The single most valuable rule in this book: pick a fixed payment for each card and never pay less than that amount, even when the statement says your minimum went down.
